The primary design objective to this home sited for a developer was to create an open and airy space that captures the views of the Los Angeles skyline from every angle. The large expanses of glass, stainless steel railings, wooden decks and detail oriented fixtures utilized the finest interior materials; further existing notions of materiality and transparency with seamless integration. Three volumes are created by the sloped roofs in different directions; this allows for natural sunlight to stream through the center of the house while maintaining privacy and energy efficiency due to the use of clerestory glazing. The façade is straightforwardly articulated, boldly featuring the clean volumetric and programmatic elements of the structure.
